ABA Offers New Online
Compliance Training Courses
ABA HAS INTRODUCED STATE-OF-THE-INDUSTRY ONLINE LENDING COMPLIANCE
TRAINING COURSES, entitled “Online Courses for Compliance Professionals,” designed specifically for bank compliance teams.
The courses were developed because bank compliance professionals are burdened like never before, forced to keep up with myriad new regulations and tracking compliance, all the while facing
unprecedented scrutiny from regulators and examiners at a time when resources are limited.
“We kept hearing from our members that more flexible training options would help their compliance professionals keep pace,” says ABA executive vice president Jim Edrington. “So we brought in
the expert faculty from our compliance schools to teach online courses that can be completed on a
PC, iPad or laptop at the student’s convenience. They can study when and where they want. And,
they can even choose the courses they want a la carte,” he adds.
ABA already offers free online compliance training for front-line personnel, but the new courses
are specifically designed for compliance professionals, whether they are beginners or seasoned compliance officers.
Courses not only draw on ABA expertise but on the skill-building content of ABA Compliance
Schools. Currently, four courses can be selected a la carte as needed but additional courses will be
added through the fall and spring for a total of 15 that cover key lending compliance regulations.
Currently available courses include:
A view of a downtown trolley at the 12th
Street Station, San Diego. The ABA Annual Convention will be held in the city,
Oct. 14-16, 2012.
m;Service Members Civil Relief Act (SCRA) for Compliance Professionals.
m;Unfair, Deceptive or Abusive Acts or Practices (UDAAP) for Compliance Professionals.
m;Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) for Compliance Professionals.
m;Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA) for Compliance Professionals.
“We wanted these courses to be as accessible as possible for all bank compliance professionals
because we know the pressure they’re facing. This way, students can choose the courses they need at
their convenience and complete them at work, at home or on the go. They can even track their progress and keep training records for management and examiners through ABA’s Learning Management
System,” Edrington says.
Courses are priced at $275 per student for ABA members, and $375 per student for non-mem-bers. For more information and to enroll, visit www.aba.com/OCCP.
