peer group with only 850 active users. The bank wanted to
increase the number of active users and the usage rate.

The objective was to give people the opportunity to try the
mobile check deposit feature, bringing them in contact with
other features and allowing them to see the benefits of the
newly improved mobile app.

It was decided that all existing mobile banking customers
Our Mobile Check Deposit service allows users of the NEW StonehamBank mobile app to deposit a check
by simply taking a picture of the check from their Apple or Android Smartphone or tablet. The deposit* will
be sent electronically to your checking or savings account – you choose. It’s quick, easy and secure.
Start by downloading our NEW free app to your iPhone,® iPad® or Android® device. Simply search
“StonehamBank Mobile App” in your app store and follow installation instructions. Next, log in to your
StonehamBank online account. Your Online Banking and Mobile Banking login information is the same –
so there’s no need to worry about another password! Follow the instructions to add your device to the
Mobile Banking Center and then activate your device as instructed.
Once you’ve logged in with your Mobile Banking App, deposit the attached $2.00 check. It’s our gift
to you for trying our NEW app:
1. Select “Check Deposit” from the account menu. Then select “New Deposit.”
2. Click the front and back icons to take a picture of the front and back of your endorsed check.
3. Enter the amount of the check, select the account, enter an email address to receive alerts
regarding your deposit, and click submit. You will receive an email alert when the check has
been received and when it has been approved or denied. It’s that easy!

40 percent of the checks were cashed. By the sixth week
of the campaign, a 65 percent increase was seen in the
number of active users. There was also an overall increase in
mobile banking adoption among existing checking account
customers. The bank now has nearly 2,500 mobile banking
customers with nearly 1,500 active users.
