ABA Bank Compliance Wins International Awards

The American Bankers Association Periodicals Group beat out more than 2,100 entrants to bring home five major awards for 2014—including a coveted Grand Award—in the annual Awards for Publication (APEX) competition. The most recent honors give ABA Bank Compliance and ABA Bank Marketing and Sales magazines 73 design and editorial awards in recent years.

Here’s the breakdown of awards for ABA Bank Compliance:

Feature Writing

Thomas Healy, CRCM (Ally Bank) and Matt Burton, won the Grand Award for feature writing for their article “Is Your Bank Socially Savvy?” The Grand Award is bestowed upon the top 100 overall entries. Last year the magazine won the same top award for an article on regulatory burden, and additionally Healy was recognized for an article he wrote on mobile banking.

How-to Writing

Jan Woolsey, CRCM at Union Bank outlined six challenges and potential solutions in her article, On the Road: Preparing for Your Next CRA Exam.

Best One- to Two-person Produced Magazine

This award recognizes outstanding editorial content and design achieved with limited staff.
